It was a very exciting weekend in the NFL. We got two games that clearly showed who the better teams were. Here is my analysis:
Tennessee Titans vs Kansas City Chiefs
The Titans came into Kansas City with a lot of momentum after beating the Patriots and the Ravens. The Titans took an early lead following a Derrick Henry touchdown, but after that, his production fell off. Henry had 19 carries with just 69 yards. Ryan Tannehill had a good game with 209 yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough. Kansas City didn’t panic and trusted their budding superstar, Patrick Mahomes. The Cheifs were hanging around until Mahomes broke a big run for a touchdown. From that moment on, I think we all knew that the Cheifs were going to win this game. The Cheifs took all the momentum, and with Henry’s lack of production, the Titans lost all of their offense. The Cheifs were the better team and played like it.
Green Bay Packers vs San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers ran all over the Packers. Raheem Mostert had 29 carries for 220 yards with 4 touchdowns. Jimmy Garoppolo only needed to complete 6 of 8 passes for 77 yards. The Packers were a mess. They tried to establish the running game, but once they got down 20-0 in the first half, they had to abandon it. Aaron Rodgers felt pressure because of the fact that the Packers had to pass the ball. Rodgers was also a little off. He threw an interception on a seam route that was open, the ball was just behind the receiver. The 49ers were very calculated and the game played to their strengths. The running game offensively, and the pass rush defensively. Nick Bosa and company were able to go straight at Rodgers because of the deficit. Richard Sherman also got in on the action with an interception himself. The Niners were the better team and played like it.
The Super Bowl matchup is set, the Kansas City Cheifs vs the San Francisco 49ers. Patrick Mahomes vs Jimmy G. Andy Ried vs Kyle Shannahan. It should be an interesting matchup with some fireworks. Tune in later in the week for my Super Bowl Prediction
