Super Bowl 54 Result and Reaction

Super Bowl 54 was a very solid game. Patrick Mahomes led one of the greatest comebacks of all time in the fourth quarter, which was very exciting. The Super Bowl was not as exciting to me in the second and third quarter because you did not see either team play amazing. My definition of amazing play is not high scoring teams, but teams that do their thing very well. Super 53 was a very fun game because both teams played fantastic defense. In Super Bowl 54, the lack of scoring didn’t come from an amazing defensive game plan, but just simple mistakes by both teams. Hands down to Kansas City though. They played their hearts out and made big plays when they needed to. The 49ers did not play bad, and honestly they did everything they needed to to win this game. The reason the Chiefs won is their X-Factor, Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes’ athleticism created massive problems for the 49ers. Overall, Patrick Mahomes did not play great. The pressure created by the defensive line of the 49ers caused major problems for Mahomes. He was inaccurate for most of the game, and threw two ugly interceptions, but Mahomes stayed calm like he did all throughout the playoffs. Mahomes came back and used his legs to extend plays and to keep the Chiefs in the game. Patrick Mahomes absolutely took over this game in the fourth quarter, but this doesn’t take any of the blame off of Kyle Shanahan and Jimmy Garappolo. Shanahan called the game like he didn’t trust Jimmy G. Garappolo wasn’t asked to make those big throws/plays that quarterbacks are known for making in the big game. Even Tom Brady had an amazing throw in Super Bowl 53, where the game had very little offense. Garappolo had a chance to make the big throw on a play to Emmanuel Sanders in the 49ers second to last drive when they were down 24-20. Sanders had a yard or two of separation, and while that might not seem like a lot of room, Jimmy Garappolo is being paid 135 million dollars to make that throw. He overthrew Sanders by a good three or four yards. If that pass was completed, Sanders had a walk in touchdown, and maybe the 49ers have their sixth Super Bowl win. Despite all of this, I think the Chiefs won this game, the 49ers didn’t lose it. The 49ers had everything going for them, and all three things I said that would happen that would be the reason the Niners win had happened. But, Patrick Mahomes was the ultimate X-Factor and took Super Bowl 54 away from the San Francisco 49ers. Congrats to the Kansas City Chiefs and all of their fans.
