2020 Farmers Insurance Open

This past week the Farmers Insurance Open took place at Torrey Pines golf course. The course played tough throughout the week, but the golfers seemed the pull through coming into the weekend. Before Sunday’s round John Rahm was in the lead, but had a disappointing day on Sunday. Marc Leisham had a huge day Sunday, shooting 7 under to go to 15 under for the tournament. Rory Mcilroy had a disappointing day only going 3 under on the day, and finishing 14 under. The scores really picked up over the weekend, even when there was a report saying Torrey Pines was playing like one of the hardest courses of the year. I thought Mcilroy was going to make a push for number one, but it never panned out. Leisham really jumped up the leaderboard to win the tournament. The biggest thing to take away from this tournament was Tiger Woods’ form. Woods struggled early, but got better throughout the week. He almost had the shot of the week. It was a 141 yard shot onto the green on the par 4 second hole. Woods bogeyed the first hole. His second shot from 141 yards went two bounces on the green, and into the hole…. Eagle. But then, the ball popped back out. Woods had to settle for a birdie. Woods scored a 69 on Sunday and that eagle could have sent him on a streak to win the tournament. I think Woods as great reason to be confident for future tournaments. The Farmers Insurance Open was very eventful. A tough course on Thursday and Friday, but got better over the weekend. Marc Leisham should be very proud of his round, and it was a very impressive round. Leisham’s conversation with his child over the phone was very awesome to listen to. Congrats Marc Leisham. He shot 7 under on Sunday and won the tournament with a final score of 15 under.
