The National Championship game is upon us today, where we will see Joe Burrow’s LSU and Trevor Lawerence’s Clemson face off to decide which team is the best team in College Football. Both teams were dominant throughout the regular season, and are loaded with talent. LSU comes off a semi-final where they routed Oklahoma 63-28, where Joe Burrow threw 7 touchdowns, in the first half. Burrow is coming off an amazing season as he won the Heisman trophy and seems to be the clear number one pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Clemson’s semi-final went very differently as they won 29-23 against Ohio State off a last-second interception. Clemson is the defending National Champion. They also have sophomore quarterback Trevor Lawerence, who is considered one of the best quarterback prospects of all time. With his two seasons with the team, Lawerence is yet to lose a game. Now that I have set the stage for this amazing game, I want to give you my prediction. I believe the 2020 National Champion will be… the Clemson Tigers. I say this because I love Trevor Lawerence. I watched him since High School, and I said this guy is going to be special. I also think LSU’s defense is suspect. They have relied on Burrow and the offense to outscore opponents. This LSU team reminds me of last year’s Alabama team. I’m not saying that they are the same team, but when I think about it the similarities are striking. Amazing quarterback, amazing receivers, below-average running game, and a below-average defense. I think Clemson has a better defense and has a comparable offense. I love both LSU and Clemson’s receivers, but I think Travis Etienne, Clemson’s running back, is significantly better than LSU’s. I like Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawerence is this game, but Clemson’s defense is better and will make the play to win the game. I’m picking Clemson to beat LSU for its second straight National Championship.
That is my take on the game. Make sure to put your predictions in the comment.
